Equality or Eradication
?

Clearly, the time has arrived for a full governmental review of immigration and multicultural legislation--not to mention the Charter of Rights and Freedoms itselfEquality or Eradication: The Future of a Multicultural Canada Author: Brad Salzberg Source: CanadaFreePress.com - 08.25.2015 In 1988, official multiculturalism was entrenched into the Canadian constitution, seventeen years after former Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau introduced the concept to the Canadian public. Both at time of entrenchment, and in the early 1970’s when the concept was first introduced, Canadians had little idea of how this piece of legislation would impact our society. Indeed, it is arguable that even in our present day -- mainly due to media and government positioning -- many Canadians are unaware of how this statute has affected our nation, and what it will mean for the future of our country.Introduced originally by Trudeau as “multiculturalism within a... Dismantling the Religious Machine Author: Chip Brogden Source: SermonIndex.org Link: about.me/gideonsword Machines are used to do repetitive or difficult work more quickly and efficiently, giving people more leisure and free time to pursue something besides work. Once upon a time a group of people saw that a machine was needed to make something hard and difficult more easily done. They put their heads together and came up with a handy little machine called “Religion.” The Religion Machine would make life easier for everyone they said. With the Machine, we don’t have to waste precious time relating to a real God Who loves us. The machine would take these complex processes and break them down into a simple three-step process that anyone could follow, reducing God to a faceless, personless ideology of good works. The result would be a mass-production of religious people who all spoke, thought, acted, and believed... (more)

Some Thoughts About Retirement Planning
...

* People remain concerned about the Accumulation Phase of retirement planning as well they should, but always remember that as retirees live longer (M85, F88 + 5 years if married) there should be urgent consideration about the Distribution Phase as well. Whatever is your target amount for the wealth accumulation, how you withdraw it and use it for income, vacations, special buys, and health needs will impact the quality and the duration of your planned 'golden years'. * Why do annuities seem to come up when talking to a retirement planning advisor? Several reasons come to mind. Advisors, as a rule, do not always recommend that your entire 'nest egg' go into some kind of annuity (fixed, variable, indexed fixed), but placing some of the 'nest egg' into such a plan has its merits. A guaranteed, reasonable return with gains locked in annually coupled with guaranteed protection against loss can give the retiree a more finite value with which to work when... (more)

what love looks like
Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent His only Son into the world, so that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 1 John 4:8-10 Look into the Bethlehem manger, pray in Gethsemane's Garden, stand before the Roman cross, and go into the empty tomb. There you will see a love so pure, so undeserved that it is unique in all the world. Never before and never again will the world see such care and compassion. These places show that God is love. THE PRAYER: Dear Lord, grant that we -- having seen and been saved by Your love -- may reflect that love to a world, which is lonely, lost and despairing. May they also see the Savior who is visible proof of Your love. This I ask in the Savior's Name. Amen (Lutheran Hour Ministries)
